We recently had the opportunity to speak with BugEaters founder Ray Tripp, and one thing was immediately clear. This is not just a business. It is a lifetime hobby.
Since the 90s, Ray has been right there in the trenches of the vivarium world. What started as a passion for poison dart frogs, geckos, and building lush, living ecosystems has grown into BugEaters.co, a brand created by hobbyists for hobbyists.
When it comes to reptile nutrition, most keepers focus on what their reptile eats, such as crickets, roaches, worms, rodents, and greens. However, one of the most impactful and often overlooked aspects of reptile care is what those feeders are fed before they ever reach your pet.
In the wild, reptiles don’t eat the same thing every day. They hunt, forage, and adapt to what’s available. This natural variety helps them get the nutrients they need to stay active, grow properly, and maintain bright colors and strong immune systems.
In the world of reptile breeding and care, finding a trusted source for both healthy animals and top-quality products is essential. Shay's Serpents is just that—a business focused on producing vibrant, healthy reptiles, providing high-quality feeder rodents, and offering custom-built PVC cages and racks that are second to none.
In 2016, a simple suggestion from a loved one sparked a transformative journey for one entrepreneur who turned a fear of bugs into a thriving business. What began as a push from her mother’s husband to explore the world of mealworms has blossomed into Happy Healthy Feeders, a robust venture offering a variety of nutritional feeders for pets.
The world of reptiles is vast and vibrant, filled with enthusiasts who share a deep love for these unique creatures. For Tommy, the founder of Reptiles Anonymous, this passion began in childhood at Wet Pets, a beloved pet store in Carrollton, Georgia. Little did he know that this early fascination would evolve into a life dedicated to breeding and caring for snakes and other reptiles.
