WLBT interviewed Phoebe Albrecht, the Show Me Reptile & Exotics show coordinator. Along with Phoebe was her Chahoua Gecko. He is one of the many different types of reptiles that will be at the show on October 2nd and 3rd in Jacksonville, Mississippi. The show will run from 9AM - 3:30PM both days, with Reptiles After Dark on Saturday at 6AM - 9PM.
One of the main focuses of this event is to educate people on the importance of preserving reptiles. Even though they may be scary at times, they are an important part of our ecosystem. The Show Me Reptiles & Exotics team also works with the local boy scouts, girl scouts, and local conservation department. Families are welcome to come out and get to know the reptiles at their own pace. All of the animals are inside enclosures, with the possibility of being able to handle them at your discretion. There will also be several different vendors at the show. Come out and enjoy the show, as this is the first time it is happening in Mississippi!
