Perseverance Pays Off for Show Me Reptiles & Exotics Show

Tamara Meyer of Show Me Snakes was available for a quick interview about the past and future of the Show Me Reptiles & Exotics Show. Show Me Snakes had their first event in October 2015 in Bridgeton, Missouri. Since then, it has expanded into a national show with over 22 different locations.

There were a few challenges along the way, such as the stigma around snakes, financial issues due to COVID-19, and groups trying to get them shut down. On the other hand, they were able to push through to educate people on animal husbandry and improve the quality of care given to reptiles. The Show Me Reptiles & Exotics Show are hoping to change the perception of their industry through education.

Show Me Reptiles & Exotics show is a family friendly and safe environment for hobbyists, enthusiasts, educators, or just people who want to learn more about different reptiles. If you have any fears about this group of animals, educators will be available to help you overcome them at your own pace. Tamara recommends keeping an open mind and staying persistent. A new best friend might be waiting for you at one of their shows!
