Scott Rozier joined KMOV4 to showcase some of the animals that will be at the upcoming Show Me Reptiles & Exotics show. Shelly, the Red-footed Tortoise, was sitting comfortably in her enclosure. Shelly was bred in captivity, but originally comes from the region of South America. He purchased Shelly at the event several years ago. She can live anywhere from 80 – 100 years, which is important to take into consideration before getting one of these pets as your own. This is just a preview of some of the things guests can learn at the Show Me Reptiles & Exotics show.
Expect to see a variety of vendors at the event and unique color morphs appearing on the snakes. Guests can become educated on things like animal husbandry and snake breeding as well. Education is an important part of removing the stigma and fear around unique animals. The goal is for attendees to leave with a more positive view of this hobby and community.
Show Me Reptiles & Exotics will be at the District 9 Machinists Hall on Sunday, April 10 from 10AM – 3:30PM. Tickets can be purchased online or in person. Future events include the Tarantula Takeover on May 15, and the Show Me Reptiles & Exotics Super Show June 16 - 17, with an after hour show going from 6 – 8PM.
