Vendor Spotlight: J&B Terrariums

For our September Vendor Spotlight, we have J&B Terrariums! With a variety of products ranging from bioactive supplies, to houseplants, to geckos, these guys have it all. The business started thanks to Billy Millikan and Johnathan Bell’s love for reptiles, as well as their desire to build the reptile room of their dreams.

A Passion For Bioactive Enclosures

Billy decided to take the leap and order over 100+ pounds of pre mixed soil, but this was just the start. Feeling inspired, the team jumped headfirst into their research. This led to creating their own soil mixes, breeding isopods, and propagating their own plants. Jonathan Bell, who was the manager of a bar at the time, was able to breathe new life into the glass bottles being thrown out at his job by creating enclosed bottle terrariums. The pair also has several planted aquariums with Cherry Shrimp and Pink and Blue Ramshorns.

With such remarkable enclosures, any pet would be lucky to live there. J&B Terrariums breed Gargoyle Geckos, Crested Geckos, and 3 Parthenogenetic species of geckos. This team has a wide breadth of knowledge that would benefit any newcomer to the plant or animal community. With their experience and passion combined, they started J&B Terrariums back in 2018.

Enhancing Reptile Care

J&B Terrariums produce fewer geckos so they are able to provide each one with a bioactive enclosure, as well as more detailed and direct care. Their main focus is on enhancing reptile care, whether that is for a new pet or one that you already own. They have a variety of bioactive supplies, such as a drainage layer, bioactive soil, leaf litter, sphagnum moss, perlite, and other various botanicals. They also have a variety of isopods and springtails.

Interested in getting your next gecko from J&B Terrariums? They focus on the following:

1. Crested Geckos

  1. Super dalmations and het axanthics

2. Gargoyle Geckos

  1. Bacon stripe morph

3. Parthenogenetic Geckos

  1. Mourning Gecko (Lepidodactylus lugubris)
  2. Indopacific Tree Gecko (Hemiphyllodactylus typus)
  3. Bynoe’s Gecko (Heteronotia binoei)

You can visit their booth at one of the following shows:

Springfield Show on September 30th

Kansas Show on October 1st

Cape Girardeau Show on October 14th

St. Louis Show on October 22nd

Stop by and pick their brains a bit! They are happy to help, and if they don’t have an answer, they are happy to point you towards people who do. Their preferred method of contact is through their social media, and they are working on a website that is set to launch in October 2023. If you live near a Show Me Reptile Shop in Missouri, they also carry their plants, isopods, and springtails there.

J&B Terrariums wants to take this time to “thank their awesome, dedicated customers who come out to see them at each show."
