Vendor Spotlight: Hall’s Balls & Exotics

Show Me Reptiles & Exotics likes to put an emphasis on our community. One of the best things about our show is being able to connect with many different kinds of people. Our Vendor Spotlight will help connect the community with some of our most respected and educated reptile businesses. For our first week: Hall’s Balls & Exotics (HBE) is in the spotlight!

Tony & Tiffany Hall created HBE back in 2019 because of their passion for nature and animals. The longer they were a part of the reptile community, the more they fell in love with it. Tiffany fondly remembers being mentored by some of the more experienced reptile business owners back when HBE was first started. This is another great example of how important the community is. One of the things HBE is most proud of is how far they have come as a business in 4 years. They are extremely grateful for being able to get through the rough patches of running their own business.

Hall’s Balls & Exotics is a great place to source animals and The Chipper coconut substrate from. Their main focus is on producing beautiful and healthy Ball Pythons and Crested Geckos. In the near future, HBE is looking to add Carpet Pythons and Boas. The Ball Python Tony & Tiffany had when HBE was first started is still a loved member of their family today.

When purchasing reptiles, HBE has some recommendations for buyers. One of the most important things a pet owner can do is to communicate with their breeder. Some great questions to ask are what does the animal prefer to eat, and when was the last time it ate. It is also beneficial to speak to your breeder about the type of enclosure your new pet should be kept in. Changing or adding things to enclosures can stress animals out unnecessarily. Breeders have spent time with their animals and can assist with recommendations for enclosures. It is recommended to check the animals eyes, their vent (cloaca), and to check for responsiveness by ensuring the animal is active and alert before purchasing. As always, make sure you research the animal you want to purchase beforehand, and feel free to ask questions when buying! Customers can reach out directly to HBE at [email protected].

Keep an eye out for Hall’s Balls & Exotics at the Nashville, TN show on July 8th and 9th. If you want to snag some merch, their sister company Decals & More has a limited stock! Some final advice from HBE:

“Reptile keeping isn’t always easy. It can be stressful for the keeper and animal, and make you want to rip your hair out or wave the flag…..but there's always someone in your corner. ‘Just keep swimming.’”
